Last year at Mercer I averaged $2.27 for every single mile my truck turned, no BS, every mile! I booked less than 5 loads under 500 miles! My average length of haul was well over 1,500 miles! I only had one load I had to scale, most of the loads were light! My preferences were wide open! Just about every load I hauled was in line with the market, for the lane I ran! The guy in the mirror had very little to do with that, cause the guy in the mirror doesn't book freight from Mercer customers, Mercer does!

 

It depends on how hot it is! I know someone that had a engine rebuilt while under a load! No one on here can give you a definitive answer, your best bet is to call the agent!

From what I've seen they will "rescue" it! Where you at, maybe some one can help you! I've been called a few times to rescue loads, and the way it was explained was I would get whatever is remaining. So if you ran 100 miles one a 600 mile load, you would keep 100 miles, I would keep 500!

 

Pete, have you called in to tell them you are brokedown? We have a very limited staff working weekends, but someone is on call and can access the computer system and the agents. come Monday the agent will contact the customer and they will decide if they want to wait on the load or if it needs repowered. If it has to get there, another Mercer guy will come get your trailer, deliver it, and get your trailer back to you.

As for trying to compare last year's rates to this year's, that's a fool's game. today's market is not nearly as strong as last year's. Rates are down every where for every one. Has very little to do with the name on the side of the truck.

 

Yes i let them know even know. They seem very helpfuly and said to call back if i need a PO but if its oil cooler i got a warranty for it

 

It's great to see that everyone is getting along so well this weekend. We should all get together in Mercertown for a steak and a cold beverage of choice. It would be just like a large family reunion

 

I'm willing to bet it won't be half the tension once food is involved. Lol a nice meal solves a lot of attitudes...... At least for my girl it does. But hey your not yourself when your hungry. ( hungry for rates )
