The EOBR is hard wired to your truck's diagnostic computer port and it uses bluetooth to talk with a phone or tablet that you have an app installed on to change duty status and the like.

Ok, so there isn't a physical cable to the device then.

There might be but they dont give us one. It uses bluetooth to connect ad download that data. I do notice sometimes when u take ur phone inside with you i got to restart my phone to get that dang EORB to connect back to my phone.

No physical cable with this system, Bluetooth only... With Mercer anyway. Have never used elogs with any other carrier I've leased to so this is my only experience with elogs.

before you take your phone/tablet away from the truck go to the main screen, bottom left and select EOBR and tell it to disconnect. Then you should have no problems when you come back and connect again. If it loses the connection because you walk away it will almost always cause an error and as you found, you will have to restart the app, sometimes even reboot the phone. That is the proper procedure.

Thinking seriously about coming over to Mercer.

I own a 98 Pete 379. Needs paint but is mechanically sound. Think I'll have any problems bring it over to Mercer?

Also, I do not own a trailer, can I lease one from Mercer until I am sure it's a good fit for me?

    Thanks,
    Toby

Yrs you can lease a trailer. The paint may be an issue, slightly faded no problem, but if it's peeling you will run into trouble. Then of course it better be in top mechanical shape cause their inspection is tough. Tougher than any dot officer had ever been on me.
