Get the felt. And you won't need padding. I've had one load of coils that cut through the felt but never made it to the tarp thankfully.

Why would you go to a trailer dealer for rims and tires? Any good sized tire shop will have tires and rims. Maybe even used rims to save a few bucks.

Pete. Don't switch to super singles on that trailer. At least not yet. The fuel savings from a low rolling resistance dual to a super single is not that big a difference. Considering the faster rate of wear you get with a spread, I'm not convinced it would even have a reasonable break even point. Also look at the places we got to drag these trailers. Lots of hazards. And you will be curbing a tire or five till you get used to the turning radius on a spread.

Any tarp shop will have rolls of felt. Or stop and get 4 sections the next time you are in Louisville. Should of gotten that when you got everything else.

I'm doing what I would normally say is a very bad thing. I'm taking a load out west, that only pays 1.75/mile. Guess I'm gonna be a tourist for a week instead of a business man. But what the heck, I haven't seen Arizona in a few years. And it's a round trip load. Should clear 5.5k in an 8 day trip. 8k lbs and no tarp. Guess that's not too bad, except I'll run twice the miles that I'm used to.
