I don't know exactly, but mine is 600/month, I think now it may be closer to 650 but it depends on the age of the trailer. Payments are deducted from each settlement pro-rated. You don't end up with a no check situation like some companies do as they take out full payment at the beginning of the month whether you have anything left of not. Mercer will generally leave you with at least something like 25% of your gross even if you owe them for something. Overall they've got the 2nd best payroll department I've ever dealt with. Best was when I ran my own company under my own authority.

You're too optimistic. You're gonna stick your neck out a little too far...

As for myself? I'll keep running as efficiently as I can. When the rates have gone up enough to buy a new truck, I will. Right now if I do a five year average net revenue projection, I looking at selling out after having brought home far less than the best company jobs would provide.

my stepdeck is $750/mo. flats are cheaper. these are great danes. if they have a utility they are cheaper yet down to around 630ish. sometimes you can get a used one.in.which case you pick it.up where theother guy left off. so if he only had a year left to pay thats all you have to pay. there is a $6k buyout at the end. $100 a month out.of that $750 goes into.an escrow. you make 60 pqyments. at the end there is $6k in escrow.and thats your buyout. if you return the trl early that money goes to repairs. if you get a trl with only a year.left you will only have $1200 in escrow and you will have to.come up with the rest of the buyout

We must also be losing a lot of drivers along the way. We may be growing, but not nearly as fast as they've been adding drivers. Mercer, and LandStar, do not operate like most other carriers and are not suitable for those who need their hands held. I heard today of four trucks that got dismissed for calling in empty a day before arriving at their destination so they could "get their place in line". All running together, all the big studio sleepers with all the amenities, all been there a very long time. Good to know they didn't get any special treatment for trying to screw over all the rest of us out there.
