I would go to the 2 stop for 0700 first as long as you can get it off without handling the first stops freight. Just call dispatch and run it by theme. After all it does say to be there for 7 am![]()

I've switched stops many times without problems. And never made calls to the agent or coodinator. Usually like to mention it to the shipper and I call the receivers but only to let them know when I'm gona be there.
But Im not the best example either. -
The Times are open they both accept to 1430. No set appointment just one opens before other. The freight is split so 2nd stop is on front 1st is on back half. They don't got to touch it.

Man, I take a little vacation and you guys explode the thread with post.
Pete! Stop breaking things man. Your never gonna get ahead at this rate. Hope you catch a break soon man.
Well it was nice being #1 coming out of Huston this morning. Jumped on a 6000 lbs load heading to the NE taking up 10 feet of deck. Thought I was gonna be able to throw another partial on there that was delivering the next town over but I missed the exclusive use note. Oh well, I can't complain. That add-on woulda been nice gravy tho.
Well it's late. -
Did you ask if you could haul the partial or just go by the load board notes? Many agents will work with this, especially if it has to move. Also if you can load the "exclusive" first, then grab a partial, and deliver the partial first.... well, what they don't know won't hurt them. These shippers act as if we're going to make SO MUCH more money by putting more freight on the trailer. As long as it gets there on time it's really none of their business.
I've hauled plenty of LTL along with "exclusive" loads, agents want to get the freight moved too.Razorwyr Thanks this. -
Klleetrucking Thanks this.

Given what I've seen of many of our drivers lately, and what I've heard from agents (drivers aren't the only ones who can whine!), I don't know how Mercer tolerates some of these guys. What I've dealt with at a regular shipper of mine, when I can't do the loads, amazes me. 8am appt and guy calls in at 2pm and says "I've been in ***** town since 7.30 and can't find the shipper". WTF? Seriously? Apparently it took 6 hours for him to find his phone too.
Or the one that called at 8am Fri to let the agent know he's still in Ohio (was dispatched Tues for Fri pickup) but on his way shortly, although the shipper is all the way on the other side of PA 350 miles away and he's already late!
I know drivers have their complaints, but the view from the other side is pretty eye opening too.CJndaTruck, kjoseph, mtoo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hmm so with the elogs we cant do split breaks? 8-2?
