There is very little western Canada freight going in or coming out. I talked to one other canadian mercer driver last week that's from new Brunswick. He stays out 6 to 8 weeks at a time and does get a load going home or close to home but only because he's willing to stay out until he gets one. If not ends up dropping in Quebec and deadheads home.
He tries not to do it that way as there's very little coming out of the east and do sent want to deadhead on both ends.

Im not fully up to speed on The impact program . I do know through that program you get discounts on tires and I think they will take the purchase of the tires off several pay periods.

The flatbed training is done when your at Louisville and is a 3 or 4 (?)hour course after you have completed your orientation.

Mercer o/o that are there will help you set your truck up and if your loading at the same place will come over and give you a hand. I found that most flatbed and step deck drivers will help if you ask, regardless if they are in the same company as you.

Like I said it can happen. Don't forget that you can have 40k on the split. Heavy loads loaded just aft of center should prevent drives ever being over.
