A week is a lot to ask for
. Let's try a 34 for starters. Lol
Razorwyr Thanks this. -
Lol didn't know anyone was arguing, this is a discussion board if you can't discuss anything what's the use of having it...... I was only saying for him to make sure he had a trailer. Not trying to start anything
-
Lol it's all good. Once you are given a date you have a trailer. Passing the inspection is harder then getting your trailer.
kjoseph Thanks this. -

So I've been battling with myself all weekend if I should share this or not. I guess I will.
Last week I had booked a short load that picked up on Friday and got me closer to my money load on Monday. It was suppose to be 21k and paid just north of $2.5 Less then I would normally take for a short load but it was money in my pocket keeping my deadhead low.
Anyway, I get there and the shipper says "oh we added 10k to the load". Well that wasn't what I agreed to so I said no way. Talked to the agent and they offered me like $50 for the extra weight. I of course said thank you but no thank you. Long story short. They ended up going from 21k to 40k and I ended up raising my price by a buck a mile. I didn't negotiate this with the agent (was done after $50) but the shipper asked me what it would take for me to haul it. I told him as I was packing my gear. He called the agent and next thing I know I got my money. I was able to get another buck a mile from them to cover the extra fuel cost of a heavy load.
Now I'm not telling people to fight for extra money. But I feel if an agent is going to hold me accountable then I best hold them to what was originally agreed upon. And making an extra few hundred $ on a load just taking me to my next real load was a bonus. I got my 34 in and am ready to make some real money on Monday. Oh and tbh. If the load had been on the board at 40k for 300 miles at $2.5 with tarp I would have passed originally. We all have different limits, but that was below mine.kjoseph, Razorwyr, bullhaulerswife and 1 other person Thank this. -
