If can be used to help tarp the taller loads. It's also helpful if someone has a bum knee.

What's the realistic per mile rate to the truck When your leased on to a company(let's say mercer since I'm writing in the mercer thread)?
I currently have my own authority but have been tossing around the idea of leasing on to a larger company to cut down on paper work and finding loads since my wife is going back to school to finish her bachelor degree. As of now I average around $2.00 per mile for all miles driven but if you take out 25% I'll be hurting at $1.50 per mile. -
Long story short, I think it would be better to ask someone from Landstar as Things this upcoming quarter is gona be way off base since mercer just took on 100+ new drivers and freight is really slow anyways.
I'm just saying even though I love it here and been sitting at home for the last couple weeks. -
the current fleet avg is around 1.71 for all miles.
i been running my little behind off sin jan 1, ga to tx then baton ron rouge, gulfport,ms then in the morning deliver in deerfield bch,fl reload in leesburg, fl to waynesboro ,ga with a oversize cheapest of those is 2.02 a mile 3 of those loads are 12,000 and less. one to fl is 38,000.
just got to shake the trees to make the nuts fall down so you can pick em up. consider this my load out fla i was #44 on the list for it, but when i was considering the deerfield bch, i saw the length and width 60' and 9' 11" wide and 11,000 pounds i had a hunch no one would take it. so i booked the deerfield beach, then 43 guys stuck in florida passed on a 360 mile $1000 load. unbelieveable actually, but it was a hunch that i do just about every week. if its a tarp load it eliminates about 70 per cent of the guys a head of me, a hazmat load knocks out 95 per cent. and i am talking loads that pay well over 2 bucks a mile to the truck.
i dont cull em, i haul em.
come on flightline, you are in lov with the new grandbaby.SHC Thanks this. -
OK skateboard man. You caught me. I did spend the day with him. I just don't remember my kids being as much fun as my grandson.
Lenrod Thanks this. -
cheapest i haul is about $1.78/mi. most of my loads are 1.90-2.00. and i dont haul the real short ones.
right now i am looking at one loading in IL with three stops. okc, abq nm and someplace else in nm. 20k lbs, no tarp for $2.38/mi i just dont know if i can get there in time to load -
Come on Wideload, hammer down and get that money!!!!
Glad to hear Skateboardman is doing well. I basically do the same as he does but over here at Landstar.... I try to "specialize" myself and haul more hazmat/OD stuff which a lot of guys just won't do. So far last week I ran a load from IN to TX paying $3.19 mile and then grabbed a load of pipe (single layer 10K pounds) and brought it out here to Bakersfield for $2.89 mile. I am looking at a few OD loads headed back east for tomorrow and they will be around $3 mile after my permit costs, but not all the way east where i want to go. I guess we shall see how things go in the morning. i have a feeling it's going to pick up since most shippers have been closed since 12/24. -
yeah, but nm aint a hotbed of frieght for us. its like going to a certain town in egypt
-
itball depends how long it takes to get empty. its like 15 degrees outside. i have to untarp and roll them things too. my fat rear end doesnt move real fast ya know
SHC Thanks this. -
please note the landstar guys talk gross money and the mercer guys talk money to the truck. its the difference in our load boards
BAYOU Thanks this.
