There's no way in hell I would take a load with stops on it, final in NM for $2.38 a mile.

Not all of us.... i only talk the money to the truck, never the gross. I don't know why you Mercer guys always say that. I just went thru this EXACT same thing with a Mercer driver today at the restruant. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about, and that he likes Mercer because he gets the "to the truck rate".... I'm sorry, i didn't know it was so hard for you guys to multiply by .73 ?????

Anyways, my rate posting are always to the truck, never what the load pays before LS takes their cut.

Because 9.9 times out of 10 you guys talk gross, wether it be on here or in some truck stop, and we do know how to run a calculator, they teach us how in orientation.

    SHC Thanks this.

    LMAO!!!!!

I have no idea why someone would talk gross.... that's NOT what you are making. Then again, there are lots of things that truckers do that make no sense

    Clasix1055 Thanks this.

How does that $2500 sign on bonus work? How is it paid out? I'm guessing that has EVERYTHING to do with the recent surge in new trucks signing on.

Is anyone @ Mercertown giving any reasons as to the push for new recruits? I got the same sense of urgency from a MN based flatbed company late last year. To hear all the dispatchers tell it they have more freight then they know what to do with. Plus, one of their biggest challenges was finding O/O with new equipment (surprise).

the bonus is kond of a joke. $500 after your first trip then $50/month or something stupid like that. when i asked my recruiter about it she laughed and basicly said dont bother expecting that money

i think they are having some turnover problems right now because the overall fleet soze doesnt seem to be matching up with the number og guys they are putting through orientation. doesnt make sense that theybwould lower standards and offer a bonus just to get guys who leave after a month or two. its not cheap putting guys through orientation

mercer will only require the minimum of what is mandated. they will not issue a blanket ebor mandate. its coming we just dont know the exact requirements, its already law. deal with it
