    True words there mtoo.
Everyone wants to start with nothing down and no skin in the game.
When things go bad they blame everyone but the person in the mirror.

Before starting out you should have your finances in order with a emergency fund ready to go.

Well I understand that it is very foolish to come to a new job with no money but at the same time many people including owner ops are check to check or one major breakdown from bankruptcy.. The game is very different. It's not the same as it was 30 years ago...I don't advise anybody to start a business fun scratch with no money but it can be done.. And if coming to a new company with nothing is your idea of starting over a new go for it... Who am I to say that it's wrong.. There would be no such thing as lease purchase if everybody came to the table with xxxxx amount of money.. Some people have to grind from bottom up... That's how the old timers did it

Any owner operator that lives check to check would be better served getting a job as a company driver. They are not business owners. They are truck drivers with a truck payment. Big difference.

There's lots of people that started a business with little or nothing and succeed. Yes there's also the other side. But if someone thinks they can make it and wants to try I have no problem with it.

This is true. But you'd be surprised.. Not many can afford to live a life where they have no other bills except the truck... Many people have kids, homes, cars, and then the truck... Sure if you have no other bills then yea you can save a bunch of money but if you have bills it's not that easy... Many drivers out here live on the road... That's not the life I personally want but I get it... And the way these loads are paying lately the profit margin is becoming slimmer do anybody with a truck payment and any added household bills aren't really putting that much back for emergency's... Times have changed

And yet lots of us have families and homes and still manage to put money back. Times have changed, but the old fashion thinking of living with in your means still rings as true today as it did for our grand parents.
