When I hired in, it was 3-5 a week and quite picky. Then again, they hired me. That was in 2011
At that time, I think they had 16-1700 drivers. Now I beleive it's like 22-2300.
I just woundn't want to give the wrong impression to others on here. There is no doubt Mercer is hiring like crazy right now and last I heard still offering the big sign on bonus. And freight is down but only because of winter.
Wideload: you seem to do good because of many reasons like payload and locations you'll go. But remember when you first go on and had to wait to get out of Louisville. And Lousiville is their most premium area.
I am very happy here but things are diffinitely changing. Changes can be scary.

I was at the mercer corner last night at the petro in el paso LOL all had dropped Monday one was 3rd and 16/18 one guy has been with mercer 12 years after leaving LS he said something that got me thinking he said 4 out of ever driver don't make it he said most guys come over because there on there last leg he said the drivers that leave are do to the fact there broke months behind on notes and get picky and don't understand the system
He went on to say he don't make any less than he did at LS said last year he grossed $188,k and years before that were much better. He said flat out there going to have to run his but off first because he and leaving
They all talked about the new drivers said they are starting to wait on there next load he said you can tell by the number you are after you drop
Also they loose the stepdeck flat is the only way to go one pulled a step at first and said some places will have one pc 30' long but just refuse to load a step after talking to them I see some stuff I don't like but what perfict it sure left me wondering what to do!!! -
I don't mean to be a prick, but you need to proof read what you type before posting it, some of it makes no sense.

Back to the "no freight in eastern PA" discussion....
I'm just getting back to work after a long Christmas break. Monday ... load 3 miles from where I park, run 208 miles $637. Reload same town and right back. Tues, deliver that, run over and load same outbound load. First two days $1900, 625 actual miles. Loaded for Canada today, deliver tomorrow, 2.22/mi. Have load back to my part of PA with 85mi deadhead, 2.76/mi. Around 60 mi out of route to head to house for weekend. Nice easy week, Mon to Mon around $4400 .... Yup no loads in eastern PA. -
Right now they have alot of van freight way more than flatbed work
