Yeah, I've had a couple trucks that were off by a half or more, but this is my second one that has been pretty accurate.

My husband put his app in at Mercer yesterday, looking to become a L/P. We were down at a local (about 45 minutes away) Quality Companies checking out trucks, just to get an idea of what they'd have. He's never really been interested in flatbed, but after reading through these Mercer threads, he's starting to get comfortable with the idea, lol. He does have some experience with hauling pipe and over sized loads while working in the oil and gas industry. Any advice or idea how long it takes to hear back from a recruiter? Thanks!

Quality is one of the worseplaces to get s truck from. If you don't have the money saved for a down payment with a traditional lender, or even lone mountain, you are not ready to become a business owner.
I fully realize it's not what you wanted to hear, and you will most likely ignore it, but you did ask for advice, and that's the most honest advice I can give.Klleetrucking Thanks this. -
Follow up with the app and callgjcarr03 Thanks this. -
I can't speak for quality. But others on here can. I will say this, and please don't think I'm saying not to do it. But I came here at the beginning of the year, and making the transition might have been a lot harder if I had a payment for the last 8 months. Not having a payment gave me time to learn the system without worrying about making that payment. With that said I am purchasing a new truck as we speak and I'm not worried about payments.
I have a friend that runs vans. I brought him over after I had been here for a month or so. He is doing well enough now that him and his wife just ordered a new truck too. But he was like me with no payments while he learned the system. All I'm saying is take the time to learn what works. I believe there are several LP guys on here happy as can be. There are others that are not happy at all. Be willing to change the way you do things if need be and you two will do great. I know I did.gjcarr03 Thanks this. -

What a week!!!!!! So I took delivery on my new truck last friday. Spent all weekend arranging stuff inside and getting it ready to work. 1st mistake was buying a truck the last week of August. Took 3 days to get my 2290 back. Then tryin to email paper work to Mercer my mail system wouldn't take it saying the file was too large. So I went to local truck stop to fax it, same problem. Wouldn't transmit due to file size. Then I proceed to my local decal shop. Can't do it till Friday morning. So I decided screw it I'm heading to Louisville cause I couldn't seem to accomplish anything from the house. So I left Tuesday after purchasing 8 new trailer tires for the wagon. Spent night in Smiths Grove last night. Everything fine when I leave there this am. Arrive at yard and pull straight into inspection bay. When I get out I noticed something sticking out of my mudflap. Investigation proved it to be an 8 inch air hammer chisel. A quick tire check and sure enough truck has never pulled a load and already has a flat tire. Appearantly I ran over it punchered the tire then it kicked up and impelled itself in the flap. Also get informed that I have a leaking wheel seal that I still can't see leaking but that's OK it's been replaced now. Finally at 10 o'clock I get the email from the IRS and have my schedule one. Walk it and all paper work over the permits get them back about 3. Decal man shows up in morning then I can finally go back to work. At least by coming here I won't have to pass through later for the inspection. And maybe get rolling a few days earlier than I would have.
