Sweet!!!!! You shouldn't have the problems with your 2290 that I had. I just happened to pick the very same day (Monday am) to do them. Just so happens that was the last day to file without penalty for this year too and 90 percent of the folks must have waited till the last day cause they got slammed which caused computer problems and slowed everything way down. Some folks got theirs in a few hours just like they should and some are still waiting.

There were too many comments on the subject to quote anyone specific person, but as was stated, clearly it would be easier to make the transition to a new company as an o/o with no payments. It is well known I have one of the Quality trucks, and I am one of the ones that is happy as can be. That being said, it is a little steep payment, so it can be difficult to excel as others do here if you can't maintain the discipline to do so. I feel that goes for being an o/o in general though. I wasn't completely broke when I got here either though. I highly recommend, if you feel the l/p is for you, that you have a few thousand extra to help you get through while you learn the system. I honestly didn't want to lease a truck, but the one I wanted to buy fell through and so I got in this one just to get me started. The intention was to turn it in in 2 years and buy a truck, but now I'm getting settled into it and starting to like it enough I may not do that. I am not trying to claim it as easy to make this work, far from it, but it is possible. I work hard to make money, but it pays off in the end, I can only imagine what the payoff would be if I had no payment or even a smaller one. Coming to Mercer, even in the manner I did, has been a great move for me, but I did about 3 or 4 months of research, then a couple months of just advice gathering before making the move. I am more than willing to listen when someone offers help, and I am a fast learner. I know not everyone has the drive or discipline I do, therefore, it is not a good fit for most people and it was not ideal to me. It is, however, a decision I do not regret. Just try to take in any and all information you can, pick through it to find what works for you, and don't be afraid to try different things when new advice comes along. It may cost you this time, but it may pay off big next time. This is a business and it is ever-changing, don't be afraid to change with it.

Good advice Razor. Everybody is different but it takes a lot of drive to make this work. Quality isn't the worst plan out there I don't think. For some people it's the best option.

Maybe a little harsh. But I'd rather speak the blunt truth and risk hurting someone's feelings than spin them a web of lies. Mercer is awesome, the best company to be with. But a first time owner with 700 dollar a week payments is gonna have a very tough time with it. every single one of us made money costing mistakes when we first started. Some of those cost thousands of dollars. I definitely wouldn't of made it through that learning curve with a 3k dollar a month payment. And I doubt very many have.

You can expect 6 weeks or longer for a flat. At least that's been my experience, so don't think it's gonna happen fast take the time waiting on the trailer to gather all the info you can.

either way it goes nobody here wants to see you fail so with whatever decision you make see it through. I will say with the way freight is unless you're starting out with a nice reserve taking on that kinda payment heading into winter and fall and being new will be tough. The other guys with new trucks already have a system in place so they can make it work. No two drivers operate the same. So good luck.

Can you change the colors or is it whichever color you order? I'm partial to the red, but it might be cool to change it up every now and then
