I like the drivers that do about 2 mph under the speed limit in the middle lane. You pass them and they go ape crap crazy on the radio calling you out......Just stupid!
I have been behind trucks for miles and they never once look in the mirror.
They get plenty of time to figure out they should move over a lane but never do.Usually screwing around on the cell phone.

Been out here a long time and don't think twice about passing them in the restricted lane or the right lane.
They are in their own little world camped out in that middle lane anyway!

a SC Trooper told me if I had to get into the restricted lane turn on the 4-ways,pass and get over.....Crazy!

Middle lane etiquette? How about forum etiquette? Maybe we should all take up three parking places when we park at truckstop. Or continue using high beams when a truck passes cause it's more convenient. Is it so hard to say that drivers don't care about other drivers? They all have phones now don't need to rely on another trucker to get them out of a situation. Don't worry about the smell at the truckstop either it's all about themselves who never do a Pretrip inspection obviously and crawl under their truck or that would stop also. Turn down the radio and go on by the middle lane nothing will ever change. Lay in someone else's piss when/if you do a Pretrip and just remember it's what's convienent for lots of people. Smith system....you can have an out any lane you drive in if you know how to drive. Bottom line you can make hints about why things are the way the are but to me it will always be disrespect for others and convieniance for themselves.

We're not talking about New Jersey. We are talking about the entire country as in the entire lower 48 contiguous states. Law's very from state to state. Many of us have been through that god forsaken state more times than we care to but we still do because we have to. Oh, by the there Mr. Super Trucker, that "SMITH system" you seem to hate so much has saved my arse several times for idiots and the shoulder isn't always an option. Some of those shoulders even they look to be so, won't tolerate the weight of a truck. It won't be long before your arrogance and incompetence to safety is gonna catch up with you. How in the hell you ever made it through school with that kind of attitude leaves one wondering but eventually that kind of crap is either gonna get you in an accident or canned by safety if they ever discover it.

Oh, and no one said we were ALL doing 55 so that assumption of an argument is invalid.

It would seem to me that some drivers are always in a hurry. I run a governed company truck and usually lay down 600 mi. on an average day. WE ALL HAVE A SCHEDULE AND DONT LIKE TO BE SLOWED DOWN, but so do the crazy 4 wheelers that speed and weave through traffic aggressively. By getting in a hurry and not being patient in heavy traffic, you are just increasing the chance of being involved in a wreck. I stay in the middle lane when passing through some cities if there is no lane restrictions because generally it is the THRU lane. I'm usually doing the speed limit and anyone doesnt like it they can go around. Plain and simple. Granny lane on two lane and restricted lanes and middle if its the thru lane.

The latest I heard on the Tracy Morgan accident was that the driver of the truck was...you guessed it...SPEEDING!!!

Yeah, those laws do vary. In some places ALL trucks have to be in the right lane on upgrades. Some places you're speed limit is 10mph lower than everyone elses... These state laws don't stop being laws just because you're out of state. Ignorance is NOT an excuse. SHare the ####### road. YOu're not the only one on it. And you're not doing #### about driving defensively if you're getting passed on both sides.

And no, nobody said you were ALL doing 55.

I was mouthing it as I scrolled down and read your post there - About 48mm to the 235mm . . . I'm in that left lane - I'll move over to let traffic pass on the left, then back in the hammer lane I go.

    That stretch is RIDICULOUS.

I do share the road. When someone behind me wants to go faster than me, unless it's not safe to, I move over out of his way

    Yes, you did mean cities.

Cities are where trucks are not allowed in the left lane, which was a point you raised in your rant. Nobody gives a #### whether trucks are in the left lane in rural areas, which completely nullifies your tantrum for country/desert driving.

Stop trying to move the goal posts.
