7 day a week business, most people looking for local work want weekends off. Other than that, I'd say that there actually may be a driver shortage.

My cousin hauled it from Pa to Ohio and it paid so low he was on food stamps and worked 7 days a week, just threw away logbooks and they fueled out of a bulk tank and never marked it down.

ouch. never realied some companies dont pay detention pay in milk hauling. i get $12/hr after the first 4. that would be something that would make or break a company for me milk hauling. i've never had to sit more than 6 hrs (one time) its usually only 2 but i've heard of quite a few of our drivers having to set 20+ hours atleast once.

i've only got one dairy that i've asked not to go back to and that was the bluegrass in sprinfeild ky. they have a very small capacity and fill up fast, i sat there the other night for 6 hours waiting to get unloaded and there was only one trucck ahead of me when i got there. it wouldnt be bad if it was once in a while but it seems like thats the norm there. i'd rather run spartanburg sc, winston salem nc, braselton ga, or even glasgow ky, over that place any day of the week. i'd run nothing but spartanburg sc if i could. love going there.

I think your right Red that's definitely something to consider before ya join an outfit. I don't think anyone is gonna get rich on detention pay but at least its something. Good deal
