The 12 volt true compressor fridges are pricey. The Volvo model is $700 or better.

 

I have a Frigidaire 3.1..... it's taller but the freezer is 3X as big

 

My first Fridge lasted 6 months with this inverter

My second fridge has gone 8 years and counting with this inverter.

Squarewave inverters shorten the life of anything plugged into them.

 

Squarewave vs Sinewave. The first 3000 watt squarewave was $300.00 at a truckstop. The second 1800 watt Pure Sinewave inverter cost $1800.00 new but I bought mine used on Craigslist for $450.00

The cheap ones put out harmonics that generate heat and shorten the life of electric motors.
The good ones produce 120V @ 60Hz AC just like household current. no more static on my cb radio since I upgraded the inverter either.

my newer inverter is a pure sine wave and 60 hertz with no deviation.

 

True sine wave vs. modified sine wave is to inverters what CD's (and any digital media) is to vinyl records in music.

One produces a clean analog signal, the other only approximates it with a lot of intermittent bumps.

I know the younger generations may not understand the analogy, never having listened to a clean 33LP in discreet quadraphonic (CD4).
There is simply no comparison to the sound quality and depth.

It is the same with video.
These days it is all digital. 15 years ago it was all analog.
It never ceases to amaze me that the aspect ratio of current video seems to always be stretched, making the people appear wider. Or that the video/audio sync is never quite right.

I have some experience.
I worked for 10 years at a little computer store specializing in video editing computers.
We didn't produce very many each month, but the average cost was around $20,000 each.
Our small 4 man operation was a 1.2 million dollar per year company.
I was the guy that designed and built all those systems.

When the digital craze hit, the system cost came down to 4-8k.
But the real quality of the video/audio suffered as a result.

No one seemed to notice, except those of us trying to keep the quality at its highest.
The people buying the systems cared more for the price.
It has never been the same since, and that company went out of business in short order.
