Inkeper & Long Shot
You two have hit the nail squarely on the head regardling where the QC is installed and who makes the decision! Inconsistency is the order of the day![]()

Capacity? About 45,000 pounds on a clear day - well balanced - downhill - with a tail wind ....... as long as I'm not being sent into the Appalachians in an immasculated rig!
-
Interestingly enough ... I never had any problem getting reimbursed for tolls from any state. Gotta give 'em credit where credit is due

The "10 mile backup" you mention falls within the 16-hour exception provided for on e-log reporting. Your DM or Safety Manager probably took care of that for you.
Cochise Thanks this. -
Huh? Meant what is your in depth knowledge of the elogs.....I.E .How did you aquire such an indepth knowledge? If the elogs are new and you are answering all the questions? that capacity,sir................
-
It's really not all that hard to figure out. I self-taught myself all this stuff the first day I got on E-logs. Which has now been just shy of 4 months.
-
The HARD way, sir. Been there - Done that - Got the T-Shirt!
I also have an acute sense of recall when it comes to things like that. When I was first introduced to e-logs I simply determined that I was going to learn all I could. I guess my aptitude for computers didn't hurt any either
I'd like to think that I've already made all the mistakes there are to make with e-logs. But I truly suspect I'll find some more down the road a piece.
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
Thanks, DC
That's pretty much the way I came by it also - except perhaps for the tutorial that's included with the unit. I sure can't remember anybody else sharing much with me about the QC at all. I just sort "played" with it to see what it could/would do. -
Same here. I've always been reimbursed in a very timely manner. So much timely that, a couple of months ago, I did a drop at a Wal Mart that charges $50 drop fee on a Monday, turned in the receipt that night and it was promptly on the same check that it was taken out of.
Exactly. Got in there and played around, touching buttons and learning what did what. -
OK emptied out here yesterday in the Big D. No loads available all day. So trailer needed inspection anyway, brought it over to Lancaster and got my freak elogs on.
Shop foreman asked how much stuff I had in the bunk area since they needed full access to mount the brain and wiring, I told him 'well, I live in the truck lol.' He said I could offload all my junk right on the shop floor when the time came to have it pulled into the shop.
Outside vendor/installer guy said, for the T660, he only needs the driver's side tool box/cubby hole cleared out. Only on the Cascadia, Prostar, Volvo, and T2000/700 does he need to toss the bunk bed outside and lift up the support to install the brain and wiring.
As far as mounting, there were no choices, it had to be on the dash. He drilled 4 holes as far to the right as he could to avoid blocking my guages and low enough not to disturb my view of my mickey mouse mirror.
OH and got to meet inkeper. We had a nice long chat session sitting near the terminal entrance listening to all the driver's complain about turning down 300 miles loads lol.Attached Files:
