That shouldn't matter, because when you click on the hours, your reset will reflect 11,14 and 70 available when you have 34 hours off. I'm about 130 hours off, still shows some hours from 8 days ago, but my 11 14 70 are fully in play on the screen.

Something that I noticed today. When I was looking at my summary, it showed on line 1, available driving hours, 9.5, line 2, 14 hour, 11 and 70 hour, 5.5. For some reason, between line 1 and 3, something did not compute. No, I am not driving past the 5.5, but for someone that is very new to all of this, they might look at driving availible, and take off.

You can imagine coming off a 34 hour break then driving 10 hours straight (perfect world) then taking 8 hours off. DOT clock would show only 1 hour left even though your 70 shows 60 hours left.
Very productive week by the way. -
and the 2 days before your reset. The day before the reset you work 7 hrs, the day before that you work 10 hrs
On the summary screen its showing 5 hrs avail on 70 hrs clock for today
The 8 days screen showing 10 hrs falling off tonight 7 falling off tomorrow night (that's how you would read it if it was on paper because on paper when you take a reset it show all zero so if you have a number on top you know its falling off at midnight and you have that for tomorrow)
On the qualcom you have to keep up on when you took your reset because according to this example you down have the 10 nor the 7 hrs rolling over because of the reset.
If someone don't understand this system the will think 10rs will fall off at midnight and they will hae that for tomorrow.
Hope I explain that clearly -

OK the Elogs are growing on me. I find it is easy to touch a button to change the status and go about my business. I don't care for the GPS feature though. Shows a picture of the U.S. and the little cursor representing the truck moves so slow, barely an inch in a whole day. As far as the Approve button, I found that it is just easier to change the status as it happens rather than try and edit the time later which is a pain in the tail. Only once did I forget to move from Drive to Off and was only for a few minutes so ate it.

There is a '+' and ' - ' symbol on the left side of the touch screen foe zooming in and out.
Touching somewhere on the map centers the map there... now a little truck symbol
appears above the +/- because it no longer 'follows' your truck.
Push the little truck to have it follow you again.inkeper and scottied67 Thank this. -
And yes, the more you familiarize yourself with this e-log, the better it gets. I absolutely love it now.inkeper and scottied67 Thank this. -
I clicked on the Performance Monitoring tab and saw all kinds of interesting stuff. Today my MPG's were 10.5, my fuel is 101 degrees, I spent 85% of the driving time in top gear and 78% of the time in cruise control, and idle is 5.7%.
Clicked on the 8Day tab and added up the miles, comes out to 2977 including a 42 hour break at the house that shouldn't count as hometime.
Was traveling east bound 68 miles an hour all day pretty much, kept crawling up the tail of this tanker dude, then I'd back off, finally I set it at 55 for about 20 minutes to let him get some distance. then I kicked it up and tried to pass him some miles later in the hills, I was light he was heavy. He'd catch up to me on the downhills, finally I let it go to 75 but he just couldn't let a Swift pass him, he had to go 80. So long story short, I checked the Violations tab, no overspeeds on my report.
I see they extended the deadline til March 1st now, evidently too many L/O's are not coming around getting them installed.
