Can you dim the screen like the old qualcomm? I'm torn on whether to get them installed or not. The fellow running the log class I voluntarily attended assured me that I would love them and get so much more productivity with them. Maybe. The 7 or 8 minutes I lose when fueling I get back later with a 7 or 8 minute stop logged at 15 minutes. I can do that several times a day and squeeze an extra hour if I really needed to. Now if you could touch Off Duty Not Driving while stopped in stop and go traffic that would be worth it.

Yes you can dim the screen, even turn the screen completely off, it works nicely. I haven't tried the stop and go thing yet so I don't know what that might do.

So far its been working great for me, it save me a lot of hrs, but I still don't like it. It save you a lot of time because which every line u go on you have to b on it for so long before it start recording you on that line. (Eg. I stop at a customer go on duty, do my arrive at, and go check in. 15 min then go off duty. I had to wait. Then they told me my load is at the next facility about half mile down the road, I drove down there and it kept me on line one, so I I ue at this facility was the 15 min to check in I'm still saving time on my 70.

I would do the same thing on paper logs though. Arrive at the place, give em 15 minutes On Duty then Off Duty til loaded call then 15 more minutes. If drop and hook, only 15 minutes then Off Duty til bounce time. \\\

It could be ugly on elogs if you touch On Duty, then go check in and there's a long line of drivers-- meanwhile On Duty is tickin tickin tickin away back at your truck and you can't go back because you would go to the back of the line again.

What do they tell you guys in log class about stop and go traffic? Can you go On Duty Not Driving in bumper to bumper traffic? Then when you move past 17 miles per hour or whatever it would auto go to Driving? That might be the only way to save time on the elogs over paper logs as far as I can see otherwise I'm not sold.

When you stop, the QC automaticaaly places you On Duty. You can edit the time on this later. The only thing you can't edit is Driving time.

And I can't believe you give your time away like that. They get fifteen minutes, period. It takes about five minutes to back in and check in, then another five minutes to close the doors and sign. The rest of the time, I'm BSing, playing on the computer or lying down in the bunk. I won't log that On Duty and DOT can go pound sand if they think otherwise.

When I get to the shipper I go off duty for the very reason Scottie mentioned and type "wait" in the note section. Then when I am told what will be going on I go on duty for an appropriate amount of time then back to off duty.

You're morre generous than I am. I flag 6 minutes check in/dock, thats it. I gave them 15 minutes for the wally store to collect stickers and I give them 15 minutes on drop/hooks for pretrip on the new trailer.

One minute per pallet. If less than six pallets, six minutes.

I have been also noting that lately the GPS on the QC has become somewhat screwy. The other day it wanted to send me 100 miles out of route, from Ardmore to Neosho. Swift wanted to send me 70 miles. This was the second time that the GPS wanted to tack on lots more miles. Most of the times, it has been great.
