    Sitting up high in a class 8 makes everything more visible and interesting.

    I'll take my home state, but enjoy many others, and get off the turnpikes if you want to see what's over the horizon.

    In defense of Pikes Peak, you have to get off 25 to see it properly. If you've never had the chance to run CO83 between Colorado Springs and Parker (Denver), it runs up on a ridge and the view of the mountains is much better as you're looking from above the foothills.

    This is from 8600' a couple blocks from the house a few weeks ago :

    Alaska. I had every intention of moving back, but I then met my wife. And bought a house. And had a kid. Oh well, being in Maine isn’t too bad compared to other places.

    I can see Pikes Peak from Limon. It’s so big. It’s like trying to hide big Bertha the cashier.
