Rumor. There are 20 of us volunteered to head up if needed, but so far LOS is good. Fact of the matter is everyone is hurting to find drivers. Schneider in Wintersville is really struggling from what we hear, and Marten outside of locals in Wisconsin can not keep dedicated.
It goes in cycles. No private fleet is domicile in wintersville. They talked about keeping a handful of PF drivers there, but that went out the window 2+years ago. Wait till winter and the pumpkin won't/can't make it up to Erie through the snow belt..... I volunteered to be domiciled there, and was told no need for PF.
Guess they want to shift some of the hiring spots to more physical locations. Either way, everyones going to have to go online and do that application at some point. Imagine if they started accepting applications at stores for driver positions
Even applying to a store must be done online. They have a couple computers at stores set up for it, probably can apply to drive through the portal. Never looked to see.
What's next setting up a table outside of a truckstop with a recruiter giving away belt nickels after one fills out an app?
