Chains and steel corner protectors. Put the chains near the wood dunnage. If they are big I beams run a trip chain or an X chain on the front. If they are small build a bulkhead out of 4x4s. Depending how they're loaded you could choke chain them too. If they're 50' long run 7-8 chains. They're easy.
Highway Sailor, cke, noluck and 9 others Thank this. -

I just threw the chains over on this load. The only thing I did differently was hook the binders opposite of the lean.
You don't see no steel corners on this load. -

@Razororange commented on not bending the flanges in another thread. I hadn't thought about that but he pointed out it's possible
That's the beauty of this site. We may not all agree (we are truckers lol) but it's a great place to share ideas and learn from one another.
Cheersrolls canardly, fargonaz, Lepton1 and 7 others Thank this. -
Dave, What's up with that Lean?
I'm assuming that's the result of the material being loaded that way............ Stagger the beams -
stayinback Thanks this.

Steel on steel... Leave those straps in the side box. Far as the first truck in the vid, straps on steel should be every 4ft not every 8-10 as he has it.
byronkmills, Jazz1 and LoudOne Thank this.
