Funny,,, back in 1996-2001 I drove a 96’ Pete 379 with a 3406 Cat, 13speed pulling a 48’ Trailmobile refer coast to coast, ice pack chicken to California and produce back to the east coast and averaged 5.9 miles per gallon and that was running 70 plus.

As long as you pull nothing but air and you stay on the flat land.

    9.5 is very realistic.

I'd be more concerned about the bullets and middle fingers flying my way for driving 58 mph on an interstate highway than an extra penny or 2 for saving fuel... especially in New England

That was debunked years ago. Forget the article but a reputable source. Found out they were skewing #’s

ever why they are not in spotlight for fuel mileage anymore

What’s funny is back in late 80’s and thru the nineties prime trucks use to roll 75 to 80 mph and in the ditch a lot

There is a guy pulling heavy reefer freight on this forum putting up 9 mpg. Check out his thread "stepping out with my own numbers" in the refrigerated forum. It's a very interesting read.

    I know a prime also getting 9.5.
    Brand new truck and trailer.

    That's their claim anyways.

And I am quite certain that is why Robert Low runs them so slow now!! He is lucky to still be in business. Settled some very BIG and EXPENSIVE lawsuits years ago. Many people do not know that PRIME INC. is just a DBA of NEW PRIME INC. He had to start from scratch with a clean slate. Obviously a very smart man. Apparently learned his lesson the hard way. Im sure all of the dead bodies in the past still haunt him. ........ Unless of course he is like Bill and Hillary.......
