Must Have Equipment

I do not have one, but there are times when I wish I did.

 

100% necessary. Saved my butt numerous times in bad weather or bad traffic. Also, great way to communicate between drivers who know each other but don't want to be bothered going on the phone.

 

I'm not exactly running the highway either. Most of my time is spent off-road

 

Without a CB you’ll miss all the belly aching about rookie drivers, smartphones, and e-logs!

 

ELDs prevent this according to a vocal minority

 

Nothing beats a CB for knowing about a lane closure ahead, accident that just happened and WILL SHUT THE ROAD DOWN, quick detour, being alerted you are dragging something or your trailer door is open, etc. That stuff won't be posted on Facebook.

 

What channel is Facebook on?

 

It's funny the guys without a CB say they have no use for one. It's a tool, use it to your advantage.

 

One of the few times I had a CB on was in traffic approaching a construction zone. There were about 7 or 8 jokers claiming that right lane was closed, then it was left lane, then no lanes, then all lanes.

CB got switched off after about 5 mins of those Abbott and Costello "who is on first" wannabes.
