It is great stuff to use, especially with high power, ever cb'er needs to use it .... it can take a sharp radius and depending on who makes it, it can be very flexible.Slowmover1 Thanks this.

I dont have another coax to test power but i know it has more power because when i put a florescent light up to the antenna with the amp on, it lightsjessejamesdallas Thanks this.

need to get ya a external SWR/WATT meter...come in handy setting swr and seeing what the set-up is doing...or not doing.

i do have one i just need another coaxjessejamesdallas Thanks this.

You need to take the amp completely out of the system and work on the antenna without it. Once the antenna is fixed, then reinstall the amp and test it.
If you are getting a florescent light to light up to the antenna with the amp on, and you can't get it to light with just the radio, it means you have serious problems. -
Since I’m still playing with what radio to use; where to place it, and how to run the coax thru truck, it’s a timely suggestion. Thanks.
UNIVERSAL RADIO has a comparison chart for those interested.

what could the issue be with the antenna? how will i know

How far are you getting? The CB frequency is still a line of sight transmission. I also fail to see what the benefit is in illegally boosting power that much. All you are going to do is walk all over transmissions that your antenna probably isn’t even picking up. The point of the lower power is to keep this from happening.

Slow, ok I am sorry I thought you got the joke, go look it up, this is a micro-coax used in low and medium frequency applications like high precision LMO in old nav systems, its diameter is something like .06"
I would start with having it checked with an antenna analyzer and someone who knows what they are doing.
A couple common problems are as I said common mode current which makes the antenna and the coax one in the same, the other that is linked is a lack of an rf ground but I and others can not tell you what it could be without looking at it in person.Slowmover1 Thanks this.
