I haven't paid a penny into it since it started. My tax people ask me if I have health insurance, I say 'no'. Then they tack on the penalty to my owed taxes that way.

That's part of the problem -- they used to be able to invest at 6+% This last year they've been getting what, 0.75%?
As long as you don't get sick. Or in an accident with costs exceeding your truck insurance.

    Exactly.

@Old Man and any others that are paying these ridiculously high amounts for insurance, is there some sort of medication you are taking or regular visits to the doctor that is covered by these plans? If not, why not just go with a low cost, high deductible plan for only catastrophic events?

Stop buying from the aca website, if you buy your own insurance go straight to the agencies and get your own. I found an Aetna plan for myself and my wife who smokes, covers really well with a decent deductible at $530 to 590 a month.

These are actual dates through the insurance company Aetna based on my family for the counties I live in on Ohio. The plan i was considering comes down to about $135 a week. Screenshot_20161029-060458.png
