I just left with my last employer. Just got the COBRA notification in the mail. They want $1260ish a month just for the medical/prescription plan to continue. Dental was like $240 I think? And I was only paying about $82 a week while working. Course, there's a "lesser" plan available for like half the cost and twice the deductible. Anyway, it really opens your eyes at just how much all health insurance is atm, not just ACA.

Pretty happy , got ins for $80 more than this years ACA price......for me.
$911.60 a month and not part of the ACA crap and my doctor (a hottie) and local hospital are in network ...
P.S. The Obamacare web site is on hold... I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes today , the first day of open enrollment ..Last edited: Nov 1, 2016

Anyone use CostCo for Insurance? I saw an ad for them today, was not aware they provided Health Insurance, but they do, as well as Dental and Vision. Not sure if their vision would be worth it, you can get an eye exam for a fraction of what my old optometrist costs, and there is always WalMart for that.

I just got my cost for next year.
$292/month.
I think the letter said my plan might not be available after next year.
My plan was $92/month when I got it in 2012.
Seems like some politician claimed my cost would go down.
And if I liked my plan, I could keep my plan.ramblingman, mitmaks and Terry270 Thank this. -
$800/month isn't an outrageous premium if you're not on a company sponsored plan.
If you're a company driver in a group plan contributing $60-100/week, remember that your company's part of the premium is significantly more than that.
The problem is not that the premiums are high. The problem is that companies can't afford, or aren't offering insurance benefits to employees. -
Yes, those group plans can be expensive. Your employer was paying the difference between the $328 and the $1260.

That's what was needed. So what did the Democrats force upon us? Mandatory insurance that can't be USED across state lines at a price most would be better off without.
I HAD good insurance...until the fees and taxes were tacked onto my grandfathered plan to subsidize policies for people too lazy to work or too entitled to make room in their budgets to pay for their own policies. Got to be where my policy cost more than what I felt it was worth to keep. Besides, I got married and couldn't add my wife to the policy because it wasn't "Obamacare compliant".
Show me where the Constitution grants the power to the government to FORCE a free citizen to purchase ANY product or service from any other person! That power has never existed, and does not currently exist.Lone Ranger 13 and Terry270 Thank this.
