My experience with Knight Refrigerated

    Scales and tolls. You have to scrutinize your pay and make sure you get it all back. I've always done this but Knights the only company that routinely "forgot" to reimburse my money.

    Oil, coolant, bulbs, etc they'll tell you they won't reimburse for those. They say too pick those up at the terminals however I went a few months at a time without being near a terminal during normal hours. Some shops wouldn't even give you oil or coolant, If you from a "competing" terminal.

    I made some money at Knight but ##### every time you turn around theres something stupid and retarded in your way.

    Then their truck would be broken down on the side of the road without bulbs, coolant or oil. No way in hell would I be paying for things the company is supposed to supply for maintenance to their truck. I'll bet it would be more expensive to have road service bring oil or coolant, and it would really suck if someone refused to pull their truck because they have burned out marker lights. No way in HELL I'd pay for it.

    I usually had a gallon of oil and some spare bulbs but never a headlamp. Also had a truck that went through a half a gallon of coolant every few days. Written up every PM to no avail. They would say to put water in but the truck consumed so much coolant adding water would result in the truck overheating.

    Really a turning point for me was when stopping through the Joliet terminal and asking to have my coolant jugs topped off. The guy was a real dikhead, asked me what terminal I was out of and then actually told me...."we don't have any coolant" That's just one of the many reason why Knight sucks...no one gives a crap about anything.

    so if you were out of spare lights in your light kit, instead of just buying one and being reimbursed for it by your DM, you'd just sit? More power to ya.. I've only needed to buy a light once, and after that i keep two in my kit, and if i use one, and have to use the second, i take it back off and put the bad light in, and i make sure i get a second one again the next time i'm at a terminal.


    yeah, i remember that happening to me in Indy once, but it's not like that now.. they seem eager to put your truck into the system as getting something from their shop now..

    how long are you out at a time and ill be based out of green bay terminal what do they do for road test?

    Scoring sometime at knight can be very difficult.

    If I buy bulbs, I claim it on taxes. I refill my oil and coolant at the PHX yard. 3 gallons of each. Always lasts me until I get back.

    were u that Knight driver that was talkin to me at The fuel Isle at the sacramento 49er truckstop last summer....that Knight driver also told me he had Al as a Dm & he had 2 ask for a new 1.......
