I know there are a couple topics about Navajo already but I thought I would start my own.

I'm in Denver for orientation tomorrow, and since I have enough experience (4 months) my recruiter told me I'll have to do only 2 weeks with a trainer. Also asked my recruiter if I could stick with the western 11 states and she said yes. I'll start off at 35 cpm plus mileage bonus. The home time policy (2 days for 2 weeks?) sounds really bad and might do me in but we'll see.

I'll answer any questions you guys have.

That home time policy is pretty much the average. I'd ask for $.45 CPM and see what they counter with and negotiate a good rate on your healthcare premiums if they don't cover them completely

Pretty much a day a week everywhere. Most companies only let you build up 4 days, is stay out 6 weeks and only get 4 days. If you want more you usually have to let them use the truck since it has to be rolling so they can make their lease payment.

Yes, it's team driving while with the trainer. Depending on how much experience you have, they'll hire you as a phase 1/2/3...I drove 4 months for Swift, and that's enough for phase 3, so I'll be out for only 2 weeks. Phase 1 or 2 would have to go out for longer.

They have a fuel route and pay based on how many miles the fuel route is. If you stay on the fuel routes, I think they said 80% of the time, you get a bonus. Orientation pay was $75 altogether and then training will be $90 per day.

I'm having mixed feelings after orientation...on one hand, almost everyone was very nice and morale seemed unusually high, at least in the offices. On the other hand, a lot of their policies are way stricter than what I am used to (with Swift). I don't know how much of it I will actually come across, hopefully none, but it seems like give you a very small margin of error.

Heard some good things about Navajo Express and I see their nice looking trucks out on the road too. It was in my top five when I was looking for a company as well.

Looking forward to reading about your experiences there and about the company in general too.

    Stay Safe,
