Yeah, I make $1265 (avg) per week as a company driver where I pay ZERO for the truck. I just drive.

Sure, I’ll give that up to make $1500, but yet I’m 1 major breakdown from being broke. Oh yeah, that’s a great plan. Lol

I worked for 6.5 years at USX, if he wanted low stress, he ain't gonna get that. But he will get a safe truck

I didn't even bother with the math at first, it has PAM's name it so its not any good. But superhill is correct, that's horrible.

    Hey big blue-
I really appreciate the input. So, (if you don't mind) would you tell me about your experience with US? What made it stressful?

    Thanx man!

.....This is the truth in print with no lie . If it ain't like this ,walk on . You will thank us all later .!!
and by the end you'd have thought we all grew up together- it was great.
My proof is from all the many decades on OTR Trucking . Grass is always greener on the other side ? NO ! Only a different shade of green . Deal with it and maturely take it on . With No temper .!! Good luck and 'Happy Trails.'' Old Time Trucker. God Bless America

I didn't do the actual math until I just read your post. Man that is horrible. You would actually be an O/O to make a couple more cents per mile???? Not even trying to brag because I struck a gold mine last week but I got $1500 on 150 miles. I usually get that on about 4-500 miles. That is absurd. Not even trying to hijack the post and throw it off topic but that is exactly why ALL OF US (company and O/O) struggle to get good rates.

I had an ops manager tell me that during an interview. I thanked him for his time and told him I wouldn't be working there.

OP, I went through the Indianapolis C1 years ago. I was lucky though because I already had a job with a local company that paid my tuition, so Driver Solutions didn't have the chance to get their hooks in me. They were the slimiest part of the whole process, and still tried to talk me into signing on with PAM or USA Truck.

Does the head guy at C1 still show up on the range every hour or so with a little yellow post-it to tell a guy to pack his gear and get lost?

Ha! No, I don't think so. I didn't see a guy doing that. I guess John is the director and Walter is the lead instructor.

Walter wasn't bad... kinda militant, but he takes care of problems when his instructors aren't doing their job.

You are absolutely right about Driver Solutions. But C1 didn't suck.

Sounds like your issue is with PAM and not C1 or driver solutions. From what you said everything was good until you got your truck from PAM which is pretty well known as a bad company.

Once you tried to change jobs of course Drivers Solutions is going to come after you because they paid for your school and the agreement is you drive for a predetermined carrier after you get your CDL to pay off the loan.

I went through the exact same program in 2004 and ended up with Star Transpot and everything worked as advertised. PAM was one of the options even back then lol.

Not defending PAM or other bad carriers and not saying you don’t have a right to be upset but the deal is you get your school paid for and then you’re locked in with the carrier you choose for a set amount of time to pay off the loan.

If US Express is willing to pay the loan then you should be all good and get on with your life.
