Day before yesterday while travelling up NE 2 on my way to I80 westward to SLC, some four wheeler forced me to take critical actions when he thought his ordinary green light meant he could take a left turn while I was already in the intersection. I had to dive slightly to my left and marvelled at how fast I lost 15 mph in speed and didn't jacknife or roll the truck. I avoided killing the idiot. Needless to say if he had been towing a trailer even the size of a Uhaul pup, I would've creamed it. At the end of the day when I did my post trip, I was promptly rewarded with a tire separation.![]()

The other day traveling through elks grove IL on Interstate 94 heading to I 80 I had my first hard breaking incident an estes driver went to pass me but instead of waiting to clear he cuts over to soon so I took preventive actions by breaking hard to avoid an accident I just got my CDL in January Have to talk to Safety about it tomorrow to be honest Im a bit scared but I did what I had to do to prevent from hitting him. But really scared can u lose your job for trying to prevent an accident?

Tell them what you wrote... tell them exactly what happened and they will understand... You are not alone... we all go thru situations like those... with so many idiots driving crazy out there and doing stupid things around us... Don't be scared... You didn't hit anybody, you didn't damage anything... YOU PREVENTED AN ACCIDENT... that's all that matters... Learn from that experience, keep your head up and move on.. Be safe...

Always keep an out, by anticipating the actions of others, and there are usually other ways.
Happened to me a long time ago, Jersey barriers to the left, 1 lane in construction, and the guy behind me took the shoulder and my way out. But he avoided the hard braking. I didn't brake that hard, but cargo was poorly secured and not loaded end to end, the meager barrier gave and half the load behind struck the half in the front.
Won't let someone load 1 like that again. -
How long have you been with CRE

People at stop signs were doing this to me all the time when I delivered around a city that had nothing but tight turns. Even though my signal was on and I had the right of way, just as I started turning, they'd concluded 1/2 second prior that I was going to go straight through the intersection, and ran right in front of me...
