How does it make me any LESS of a driver to use an extra mirror? That mirror enables you to see your trailer tandems in a turn without jacking my head out the window and taking full concentration off the objects ahead. Whats the problem?

I did not say it made you less of a driver.I just know Ive drove without one till I got one to put on and I did put it on. So I guess if there is a problem its not on my end.To keep rolling and making money I will do small repairs. If you put 30 something years behind the wheel you will learn to do miner repairs??

thought you would enjoy this little update. i ran thru atlanta before heading to texas then back to florida but while i was there i talked to the head guy for the south eastern region and was informed that i did get a new dispatcher and the guy i no longer have was promoted to a higher position. i was appalled. i let it all go and showed my displeasure by making a smart remark. i said it respectfully but i got my point across. i now know that there are some shabby doings in the uppers of this company and i want no part of it. if everything goes right , later this week maybe next, i will be informing them of my intentions to quit and turn in there truck to the atlanta yard with my two week notice maybe just a week is what they will get.

this is where you are speaking before you are thinking. it is not the lack of mirror itself it is the broken bracket that was the problem. faulty equipment equals dot ticket.

it was not as easy as just screwing on a mirror. the bracket itself broke and there was no place to attach a mirror. and that was a part that had to come from freightliner and it was already closed when this happened. i had no other option but to wait til morning to get it fixed. and i will not spend my money to get a bracket from a truck stop even if i could have found one. then wait two weeks to get the money back.

This is a different matter, It's not just the spot mirror missing. May-be that's what your DM failed to see also. Not blaming you but it could have just been a failure to comunicate correct information to him so he could get the picture. At any rate the problem was solved and you got a new DM out of the deal, as long as you are happy with the out come all should be winners. Also you leaned how important it is for you to stand up for yourself 'cuz no one else will.:yes2557:

75 MPH tape can save you an equipment failure ticket 68% of the time if your in a bind. The other 32% can be broken down to 22% field repair and the other 10% is shop time .:biggrin_25525:LOL!!!!!

The West Coast truck mirror Yes it will get a Dot ticket Not a spot mirror if we are talking about same thing because I see lots of trucks without left spot mirror. Some trucks do not come equipped with spot mirrors Owner are driver installes them.
