If you want to still go work in the oil fields hauling frac sand there are some better companies to go to work for out there. I can give you a list of the better companies, but I'm not sure about their pet policy. The pay is $1000 to $1500 per week net. It is hot out there though and you will most likely being running two short loads per day. Dispatchers will try to push you past the 14 hour limit, but you just have to tell them that you're getting your 10 hour break and then shut your phone off so you can sleep.
I have several friends working at different companies but they are all in south TX. and hauling sand for Schlumberger.
The following companies are located around the DFW area.
FlexFrac is out of Alvarado, TX and hiring.
Tutle & Tutle out of Cleburne TX. (this is where a friend of mine told me to apply)
D&T Trucking out of Weatherford, TX.
Maalt Transportation out of Ft.Worth, TX
CAB Logistics out of Ft.Worth, TX.
3 WayTrucking out of Boyd, TX (they have a yard in San Antonio, TX as well)
If you're interested just do a Google search on them and you will get their phone numbers and addresses.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this. -
Schneider did you a favor. These new guys today.....they are earning LESS than we did TEN years ago running system.
Their bonus is a flat out complicated joke and it is designed with lots of fancy traps and sliding doors for the sole purpose of paying out less. Effective this August Schneider drivers will no longer be able to get cash advances on the road.
Going through Kansas or Oklahoma and you are your own for getting cash for the tolls.
The OC's turnover staff as quick as they recycle drivers (this is nothing new) They have really become anti-driver and these things I mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. They will destroy driver pay out in the oil field given enough time just like they have successfully done with van pay over the last twenty years or so. When Don Schneider died a few years ago the company and their desire to retain good drivers did too. I've been gone from them for eight years but my sources about their misdeeds come from multiple close friends who have several combined years within almost every capacity at that place and are still there for reasons unknown to them.
They did you a HUGE favor truck driver! You don't want anything to do with that place.OPUS 7, HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, zentrucking and 3 others Thank this. -
Steer clear of FlexFrac and D & T. They both suck. CAB drivers seem fairly content. Tuttle is hit or miss. Depends on who you are working for.

Be glad you didn't get the Odessa job. The housing costs there are astronomical. A Motel 6 room that goes for $39.99 in El Paso runs $79.99-99.99 in Odessa. I feel bad for people just passing through only to be gouged. My brother in law is a pipe fitter and he and his wife and two daughters live in a one room efficiency on some guys lot and are paying $600 instead of the $800 they would normally charge because the owner is a friend.
zentrucking Thanks this. -
I guess they do that bate and switch all the time. Friend of mine signed on as a dedicated driver and then given the run around and found himself driving from west coast to Midwest for nine months before he finally quit out of disgust.
Most of these outfits could care less what you went through to get to orientation. I don't think they used it against you. They are just office people who's job it is to fill a seat. Have you seen their trucks? Not easy to get people to drive a pumpkin around unless they are desperate.macmoran and Worried Mom Thank this. -
unless you have been assigned a driver number, then you were not "employed" at SNI. Just sayin.
-
That doesn't give SNI the right or make it right for them to do what they did. It isn't good business. Just sayin.pattyj Thanks this.
-
That's even better for him.
