So did my kids, and so does my grand kids. Whooping them teaches them matters, it is the ones that got participation trophies that gets mouthy.

Its just a tool. We are loving parents with firm, consistent rules that we stick to. I am doing all i can to prep them for adulthood. I let them plea bargain on punishments. First rule is turn yourself in for a spanking [or a warrant].. dont make the law chase you down. Thats a fast way to wreck your young life kid.
The schools in tennessee still paddle kids. Which i support.D.Tibbitt, Cattleman84 and Oxbow Thank this. -
Far too often the psychic part gets minimized, but whether it's recognized as such or not, if a driver doesn't have the ability to see trouble, often even before those involved, they need to up their game.
Proactive, not reactive. If you're not mentally in front of the truck, it will bite you someday.D.Tibbitt, sealevel, FoolsErrand and 7 others Thank this. -

A lot of good advice here.
I have a simple rule, don't put yourself, or anyone else, in a position where you/they have to do anything sudden. To do that you have to space around you and you have to know what's going on around you, especially far ahead.
Easier said than done sometimes but for the most part not that difficult.D.Tibbitt, Oxbow, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ll agree with you but those guys you’re talking about....let’s call them the walking dead....will either have their come to Jesus moment where they get the #### scared out if them or they will wash out. It might take a couple years but Luck doesn’t last forever.Last edited: Sep 26, 2019

We have a 70+ yr old cowboy driver that refuses to be washed out. Just from local word of mouth i know of 3 trucks he has wrecked and 2 former companies. And i just read the accident report on his 2nd crash involving another vehicle this afternoon.. First one we paid the driver cash to replace his hood. This one was running over a car on the inside drivers side in the 2 lanes turning left turn. Police report on that one.
When guys come on here sweating their DAC i want to give them this dudes number. Funny thing is he fancies himself a great driver.Bud A., Oxbow, FlaSwampRat and 3 others Thank this. -
FlaSwampRat, TripleSix and rank Thank this.
