Looking for advice from Class A drivers --
I have a friend who is pursuing his class A license, and looking to get hired with a OTR trucking company, but he is having difficulty. He has a misdemeanor conviction four years ago, and as a stipulation of his sentence he is required to register as a sex offender for ten years. He is not having much success in getting any employment. MVR record is clean, and good stable work HX & refrences.
Would this hold him back from getting employment opportunities ? Or are we missing something else.

Several companies hire felons. Which state does he live in?

@Chinatown? Not sure about the sex offense, I'm guessing it depends on risk and category?
-
Lol, you're quick on the trigger Chinatown
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Illinois -- Thats what baffles me. it wasn't even a felony.

The connotation "sex offender" makes it worse than a felony. You can be a sex offender if you date your high school sweetheart that's a few months younger than you.
Do some online applications BEFORE any phone calls. Do a bunch of apps.

Or be caught peeing in public - the definition needs to be legally separated into legally defined categories that separate 'needs to be exterminated, predatory child molestor ', and ' made a bet that required he run around the block naked if his football team lost whilst drunk off his rear end'.Midnightrider909 and Chinatown Thank this.
