ISX isn’t a bad motor but if your the 2nd owner then buy the Encore XT1 2nd owner warranty from Cummins just in case.
Ideally, go with the newer X15 Cummins. It’s a great engine. -

DD15 all day man. Bought my DD15 with 450K miles now 810K and still running like day one. Just make sure you keep good maintenance on it, and EXTREMELY IMPORTANT... USE QUALITY OIL...

Oil change every 12-15k miles with Lucas.

Do the new X15s sound like they're going to chuck a rod like the later year ISX?

No engine is perfect.
Maintenance matters.
Next is luck.
Do you know how heavy you will run?
If you plan on running a lot off light loads i would be carefull to buy a 15l engine.mikey747, PE_T, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this.
