For those of you who like to get straight to the point. I work for pam transportation and have 10k miles in my first 5 weeks. Averaging the pay I'm at $530 gross weekly. They give you a 500 weekly minimum. I run as hard as I can and have had 3 24hr layovers for 40 bucks each. This place is a joke. They deduce your income tax so I'm taking home 400weekly. My apartments 1000. I cannot work 3 weeks just to pay for my apartment. I understand the whole pay your dues your first year and i was ready to but.. this is a joke.
*Does anyone know any good companies with tuition reimbursement. Or a sign on bonus for new drivers?*
Dream job after 1,2, or 3, 5 years of otr experience is 100% drop and hook 40+cents a mile. Is that too much? Is that a pie in the sky?
I'm willing to drive my full 10hr 58 minutes and 2 to park. I'm a young buck looking to run hard and get paid. Safety is my number one concern in every decision behind the wheel. pretrip check, post trip check, get out and look..check.
I just cannot tolerate wasting away for 400 a week. . 25cents a mile wouldn't be the worst thing if they had the miles for it.
This week, they forced my 34hr reset mid load, finally delivered 150miles away and am now 35hrs layer over. How can I not have a load assigned..... wtf. If you ever hear anyone ask about pam. Tell them one thing.. RUN.
