If you work LTL linehaul, it will more often than not be a night job.

Big difference in Conway truckload(just like any Otr outfit). Conway freight is LTL, P&D and Linehaul drivers/ forklift jockies. Both same company.

Just like UPS freight and UPS truckload. Anything with truckload is Otr and pays cheap compared to the freight side and wants you out for weeks. Weird but that's how they work.

Ever consider driving a Tri-axle dump or whatever axle truck you have in Florida? I am from PA and used to own my own Tri-axle. You really don't even have to get out of the truck much. Its always local also.

Why not try one of those private fleet.Publix/winn dixie have their own fleet down there. Not sure if you have to start in the warehouse before you hop in the truck. But the job market is pretty rough in florida. It is an inbound mostly state, not much freight out.

I found my linehaul job through a Craig's List ad. Got a call from my TM offering 39 cpm PLUS hourly pay at $16 with home almost daily (5% layovers).... Got a phone call from Watkins Sheppard offering 29 cpm and out 4 weeks, home for 4 days a month. Guess who I went with :)

I know its hard to get motivated, when you are resting on home time...but
he should try doing some face to face walk ins.
Ya never know who may have fired,or had a driver quit that week.
Do a search on terminals in your area, and maybe go by,and drop off a resume.
