Does Swift provide PikePass to pay tolls in Oklahoma?

I had 6 trucks during my career at Swift. One had Pike Pass and Ktag (for Kansas) in addition to the EZ pass. The other 5 did not.

Haven't read the rest of the thread yet, but I'm a new driver only 2 weeks out solo. I've regularly driven between my 10 and 11 hour mark. I suppose Swift could in theory shut the truck down since they have Lowjack type systems, but they don't nor won't just willy nilly shut em down.

Sounds to me like one of those things people just say. Just yesterday someone asked how fast I can go in my truck. I said 62. He said Swift lies and it's only 58 that's why it takes forever to get anywhere. I just laughed and thought "that's odd because both my GPS's say I'm running 63".

They can only shut your truck down if you're on Elogs because they know when you started your day by touching the screen. They wouldn't do it while the truck is in motion. They'd send you a message that you'd have to read once you pulled over, that's when they'd spring their trap. If you pulled over on the side of the freeway just to quickly read your message, they got you on illegal parking and driving hours violation as well.

That sounds more reasonable and correct than just flipping the off switch...but like I said they probably wouldn't do it unless you actually in 11, 14, or 70+ HOS violation.

This is BS. All of it. The idea Swift will shut your truck down is BS. Nothing else to say.

ill agree with Injun, they can by your signal and they would have too look at a map, like google earth , too see were there truck is , too legaly, and safely too shut down along the side of a major interstate, it's not gonna happen too put there truck in danger or harms way for the driver :biggrin_25512:, now if you pull in a truck stop, then by the air temp , mayby, but i dought they would do this unless you the driver contue too break 70-14-11 ect , then they will route back too the main termial and have a pow wow with you the driver.:biggrin_25516:

I asked about the truck shutting down thing when I took my elog class, and was told it's all just rumor. They will not shut the truck down. If you try to run over, you will get a log violation, and I would guess if you did it often, you would be fired, but they will not shut the truck down. Period.

Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see. That's what they used to say back in my factory days, and I think it applies to trucking as well.

They are getting really picky about passing out the pikepass and others. Someone took one that was prepaid and used it in their POV until it quit working, then threw it out somewhere. You have to call permits and ask for Stephanie in tolls to get one. She is slow as Molasses in December about getting it to you, but will do so after the third or fourth call after she tells you if you can have one. Then she will send it to your DM to hold for you. Remember that the toll passes are assigned to you, not the truck. If you switch trucks take it with you. The e-z pass is assigned to the truck so it stays. If you do switch trucks you have to call her and let her know to move it with you to the new truck.

    Injun and Everett Thank this.
