I get what you're saying but youtube can also be a massive source of knowledge. In fact the particular youtuber he linked has years of videos covering cat engines and is fully, unarguably, legitimate.
I wonder what the cost would be? Id entertain the idea of a 3406 or a 6nz, they can take my account 96 12.7...... I cant seem to find any hard numbers anywhere....
At 50-55K big yikes. Though at the same time new cat. Still bonkers though. The ones they wanted to sell factory remaned with a 5 year were 30-40K 10-30K unknown used.
They didn’t have any choice but to get rid of it. They were going broke from not selling any parts for the N14
I have a friend that just had a 2013 ( I think ) ISX in a W900 rebuilt at Pro Diesel in Des Moines .. it cost him 54k out the door got a guy's 2011 Pete 388 in our shop right now with a ISX thats not worth rebuilding that We're gonna repower with a used Cat motor its gonna cost him about 30 to 35k to do that
With this coming soon(see video), this CAT engine swap might me the best option for smaller fleets and O/O's
