I get what you're saying but youtube can also be a massive source of knowledge. In fact the particular youtuber he linked has years of videos covering cat engines and is fully, unarguably, legitimate.

At 50-55K big yikes. Though at the same time new cat. Still bonkers though. The ones they wanted to sell factory remaned with a 5 year were 30-40K 10-30K unknown used.D.Tibbitt, JoeyJunk and Rideandrepair Thank this.

I have a friend that just had a 2013 ( I think ) ISX in a W900 rebuilt at Pro Diesel in Des Moines .. it cost him 54k out the door
got a guy's 2011 Pete 388 in our shop right now with a ISX thats not worth rebuilding that We're gonna repower with a used Cat motor its gonna cost him about 30 to 35k to do that -
$50k, where’s the Truck that goes with it?
