These 2 that I quoted are the best pieces of advice to this point. I'll also add that you need to stop watching videos about opinions on companies and stop looking at reviews. If you keep doing that, you'll forever be second guessing yourself. Here's the reality: the first year is going to be rough. You most likely won't make great money your first year because your rookie year is your extended training period in real time. The videos you need to watch should only concern skills....backing, trip planning, hours of service, etc. Becoming proficient in all of those is how you will make money, and it doesn't matter where you work. The most valuable thing of all is experience. If you don't have viable experience, then it's going to become harder to get to where you want to be. Experience combined with a clean record, and minimal job hopping will allow for you to choose where you want to work in the future. This first year, focus on honing your skills, and learning the industry. If you're focused on biding time til your next move, you're going to be susceptible to making mistakes. Oh.....and 6 months means nothing. You'll need closer to year in order to have more plentiful options.

Not yet I was going to use the WOIA grant through texas workforce solutions to pay for it then look for a rigging company. I have looked for rigging companies near me so I have a few bookmarked.

Doesn't look like they have any openings in Houston besides a project manager position.

The recruiter said training is 4-6weeks, was that incorrect?

Here's a thread on Freymiller:
Frey Miller? OK or stay away? -
I used to pick up and deliver huge cryo tanks to the south of Houston, I think it was on TX288. There was this crane/ rigging outfit next door that had a fleet of flatbeds and multi axles. My guess is that they delivered their own cranes. For the bigger cranes, it may require 30-40 trucks to move them.
This place was to the immediate east of 288, south of beltway 8. -
He says he has 6 months experience, does freymiller take new drivers or are you saying I should look at reefer driving after 6 months to a year of experience?Chinatown Thanks this.
