Just apply to any and every company. It's not a driver's market right now so it may be difficult given that background. I won't say it's impossible, but if any company gives you a yes, take it. Tickets fall off after 3 years so once they are off your record, it'll open up some more opportunities.

Why didn't you ask this question BEFORE you spent someone's money & your time on CDL school.
If both of my legs were amputated years ago would that possibly affect my chance to become a professional surfer? Should I ask pro surfers if it might hinder my job prospects?
15+ over the speedlimit is considered RECKLESS DRIVING in the industry & the actual wording on your ticket or in your record is not overriding the RECKLESS DRIVING conclusion by insurance companies.
I'm glad you no longer have that dangerous habit. You should have gone to school for HVAC or electrician. -
You’re one of those idiots I didn’t want to hear from. For you to assume that I didn’t pay for my own tuition is stupid. Respectfully ####! -
Lots of newbies get their CDL paid for through the WIOA grants. Since I didn't know if you paid cash, borrowed money, got a WIOA grant, etc I didn't assume ANYTHING. I answered leaving every possible form of payment in mind.
Would you recommend people with lots of speeding tickets or several bad speeding tickets get into trucking? Is a person's driving behavior something trucking companies should consider when hiring drivers?nathen10-4 Thanks this. -
You’ll more than likely need to find a company that’s self insured as it’s not the companies that will decline you. It’s their insurance carrier that will refuse to cover you. Thus, the denial letters you get.
OldeSkool, broke down plumber, NN Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. -
Life is a b****tch, we have rules and regulations to live by and if you don't like what you hear, wait until you have an accident and you are going to court because you are being sued.
We all have to take a bit out of the same ****** sandwich and if you have a soft shell which reality hurts, don't bother working in this industry but if you are serious, listen to everything anyone says.
Money should have spent on proper legal counsel to get those tickets reduced or eliminated.
Get a lawyer and sue the school, they should never have allowed you to enter the program.
If you get a job, and you get into an accident or if you get another speeding ticket or any ticket for that matter, you will be unemployable.
At this point, you are pretty much unemployable for 90% of the companies out there, and it may be getting a hell of a lot worst, seeing we are in a carrier's employment market and don't need crap drivers on the road (not talking about you).
One 15 over ticket should sink your job prospects, but two and one 20 over, the insurance underwriters will not allow you to get into a truck for most companies, and right now there are people with no tickets, no accidents having problems finding work and the economy just on the edge of a deeper recession, there will be more.LoneRanger and tscottme Thank this. -
Okay know it all #######! How does me paying for MY CDL cost YOU money? Shut the #### up dude! I see a lot of you dumb ####s like to type behind a keyboard and can’t just offer a simple suggestion or shut the #### up.
How many points did you get on your drive test bud? 23??? I GOT 7 so shut the #### up about someone you don’t even know being a bad driver! Speeding doesn’t make a person a bad driver.
And just for more context about my speeding tickets, I was working for a #### bag employer and was pressured to rush with supplies for a project. BOTH TIMES I GOT TICKETS! I didn’t mention that before because I take responsibility for the speeding. It was either I hurry up and satisfy my boss or I had no job to support me or my family.
So you don’t know everything, you don’t know the circumstances behind someone’s actions. Moral of this story is shut the #### up if you don’t have any solid advice. -
No one gives a crap what you got on your driving test. Some of us here didn’t even go to school to become drivers, so your accomplishments don’t mean diddly squat in this field. Many here are self taught, so your 7 points goes out the window. Plus we don’t go around bragging about it, because we know no one cares. It’s all about your attitude on the road. Not being able to take the lecturing from industry vets shows how mature you are.
they will lecture you, but in the end they are the ones who will help you out if your in a bind.
so suck it up buttercup, your in a grown man’s field now where feelings don’t matter and actions do. -
I made it VERY CLEAR I didn’t want or need your lecturing! I’ve learned from my mistakes, I’ve committed to being a safe driver. So for you to offer lectures when they’re unwanted is stupid! And it shows your character greatly!
An industry vet is one who offers solid advice not criticism! (Thank you again to those industry vets who offered advice without ridiculing). So claiming to be an industry vet without offering any advice whatsoever is rhetorical.
Anywho, I’m on my way to sign this employment contract so have the day you deserve!
