Alot of the mega companies wont let people get a dedicated route with out 6 months OTR. Mostly because megas need OTR loads delivered. So good luck on getting what you want.

There are many companies in that area that will have dedicated accounts.

NFI has shuttle jobs there: https://drivers.nfiindustries.com/

Buddyd157 suggested Werner but none of the dedicated accounts they have there will keep you in town.

    Drive safely

Do Yourself a favor and call EVERY trucking company in your area. Dairy haulers, farm haulers, gravel haulers, roofing haulers etc... Call them all I don't mean big companies but rather the local outfits.

You will get a lot of no responses but Id bet you will find one near you that does say yes and takes you on. Its a big misconception that you need to start OTR in todays world.

The demand is so high that even the local guys are starting to take anybody and train them. I live in a big dairy area and tanker drivers are desperately needed. For many years they wouldn't hire less than 2 years experienced tanker drivers and now many will take just about anybody willing to sign a 1 year agreement and train them.

Not all areas have the same freight but they do have the same problem finding drivers.

Things have sure changed. Use to be a driver had to have so many driving hours and miles to get the actual license past the learners permit and local would only hire experienced drivers due to the city traffic. I guess the oilfields have taken away a lot of drivers and they have to get someone

Plenty of jobs available and some you don't even need a cdl; only a cdl permit.

    lovesthedrive Thanks this.
