Breaking the law is often the only way to stay compliant with the law.

Miss understood. Thought it was while you are bobtail and looking for a trailer.

Can't legally use it while under a load or to advance towards your next load.

If you are on the yard just driving around looking for an empty that you can.

If you're looking for an mty trailer, you're under a dispatch which is the definition of under a load which is illegal to log P/C. P/C is for going to local lodging to take your break or to go get food or beer.

I would post a link for you to read the guidelines on PC but I'm not that tech savy. Its easy to find though.

Ok on fmsa site about driving , yes no more then 5mph , BUT! its also says something about yard move (hard to understand from smartphone), if I understood correctly you can still be off duty/not driving, but have to "yard move" time on your eld Screenshot_20170813-213743.jpg

If it breaks my 10 hour break because I moved the truck across a parking lot, screw them, im not restarting it. They can fine me all they want. Drivers need to stand up to that stupidity.

The only way I can think of is to just log off every day after you do your post. I know that some can record a GPS change from log off to log on, but if it's the same facility, who the hell cares? Some idiot sitting behind a desk, wearing his safety best even though he's inside?
