Look up old threads where @Scalemaster posted about pc.
    He explained it perfectly.
No way what you did was legal.

Ps i read it is no longer a problem for you.
Just wanted others who read this to be aware.

Crap happens no matter what you do for a living. Dont interrupt your breaks and you won't have this issue. Then you are only dealing with crap that happens in route that puts you behind or doesnt let you get a break in before delivery. And for those situations, it's life man. It wont ever go perfect. just like a construction worker that loses a week of pay cause of rain. This is why we save in the good times so we can get by in the bad times.

I would be on my 34 @ the terminal and need an empty so just drove around the yard. Don't see that as an issue.

If its work related it needs to be logged. That's the letter of the law. but I'm not preaching to ya , I'm clarifying the law. What you do with the info is up to you. its not like i log the 30 minutes i grease my truck and trailer every saturday.

Well, that's a noble attitude to have, I guess. Good luck with that. But they don't pay me enough to have that kind of "waste loss potential" here in the real world of refrigerated hauling.

Are you sure it actually logging the change ? My ELD will say and show driving if I'm driver around a parking or changing parking spots. It won't actually log it until I move like 2.5 miles. Then it would go back and log the time I moved the truck. It also will give me a 30 second warning after driving 2.5 miles saying if it don't stop it will automatically log me as Driving.

So even though the ELD knows I'm moving around in the parking lot and it shows it on the ELD screen. It won't log it until I hit 2.5 miles.

That's what I am saying. I never cared about the ELD hysteria until just now that I find out I won't be able to move around within a parking lot/shipper without canceling my 10 hour break. That's news to me. Ok NOW WE GOTTA DO SOMETHING !!!!

But my point is, if you are doing everything else right, there will be very few times there will be a loss. If its common and there is nothing on your end you can change then you simply need a better job.

To be clear as don't mean you specifically. I'm addressing the concept, not you individually.

What will have to happen is 99% of trucking will have to convert to team driving to avoid violations and massive fines. By doing this it will take about half the trucks off the roads and the parking problem will solve itself. The air will become cleaner and the EPA tree huggers will have to find some other cause to untie.

The industry already tried that once. And yet us solo operators are still here. On long haul coast to coast runs teams work fine. Short haul and regional tho and its cost prohibitive.
