Hello everyone! Another new guy here, well soon to be new. I plan on starting school either this month or next. Decided to go with Miller Motte since it is close to the house. I'm excited about entering the industry, this hasn't been an easy decision for me to make. My career path has taken a complete 180 over the course of this year. I look forward to learning as much as I can on this new adventure, and just want to say Hello again and glad I found this forum!

    Good for you.
Get all the endorsements plus TWIC and a passport for more job opportunities. Those endorsements are money in the bank.
Start a list of companies you're interested in and start submitting applications the first day of CDL school.

Thank you for the reply. I've kinda picked up on the need for all the endorsements. Right now just trying to figure out who I want to go with to get me beginner experience. Seems like the first year is really make or break. Excited and nervous at the same time, I have zero experience driving truck, so a little intimidated. But I figure it is like anything else I've done...listen, learn, and ask questions! Coming from a military career than to law enforcement, its going to be interesting to say the least.

If you want hazmat/tankers, most hire out of North Carolina.

Here's some that hire new CDL grads:

    CTL Transportation
    Schneider Bulk
    Tidewater Transit
    Superior Carriers
    SVTN
    Trimac Transportation

Don't be intimidated by tankers; those companies will have you well trained before sending you out on your own. They are all successful companies and didn't get that way with inadequate training.

Awesome, thanks so much. I was already looking into Schneider, I will look into the others as well.
