Hope it works out for you on that truck of yours. Yours is a clear example of why I bought a new Volvo 3 years ago.csmith1281 Thanks this. -
Some of us started old school, or is it old skool?
Any how, I had zero, zilch, nota, nothing when I started. After telling my Dad I quit my job at 23 yrs old and was going to drive truck for a living. I got in his truck and rode and drove with him for 3-4 months. He then look at me and asks me if I was going to drive for someone or buy a truck. I looked at him and said I planned on driving a truck for him. He said F YOU, he tried owning 3 trucks and wasn't doing that again. So he gave me $2500 down and cosigned a note for the rest of $10,500. That's right my first truck AND trailer cost 10,500.
Today you can blow through 10k in fuel and tolls before you get your first pay.Diesel Dave, jt road hammer and csmith1281 Thank this. -

I know of a handful of guys who did it, but they have trucking in the family....uncle’s, cousin’s, brothers, etc...
The support system is probably the most important thing one needs to succeed. (I mean a solid support system of people who know the business.)
Otherwise it’s like opening a restaurant because someone told you your hamburgers were really good. Doomed from the start.adayrider, Tb0n3 and csmith1281 Thank this.
