You will know for sure that your doctor checked the PMB when that doctor asks you about your current medicines down to the doses. Maybe they will like to count the pills remaining until refill to be sure you are complying with the medicines you are being issued.
I do not go to my family doctor anymore. In fact when the one bone was broken I never saw him with the owie. Only the hospital doctors took care of it with the surgeon for that kind of fixing.
That's ok because at some point I expect my family doctor to essentially retire before retirement age and get out of running his own clinic. Most of the people who show up there have sniffles for flu or colds. Nothing too exciting or require good medicines. Those are the ones in which the ambulance is called. At about 300 dollars for 14 miles to the Hospital. Plus a 400 dollar call out rate. -
The 90 days is for an A1C test. Talk to your doctor and have them do an A1C test before going to get your physical, and if you can, bring the lab results with you to avoid paperwork delays. On diabetes meds(oral, not insulin), they will only give you a 1 yr card max unless there is a long history of having it under control. But like it was mentioned, if it hasn't been 3 months, they normally give you the 3 month card to give it time to verify the meds are working.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I don’t really know all the rules. But it seems a 3 mo.card should be given, same as they did for Me for high BP. Type 2 is usually but not always reversible. I knew a Guy who had it for years. Drove till he was 82 yrs old. I’ve seen it reversed along with high cholesterol in my mother, after going on the mediterainian diet, and losing weight. Others like my brother-in-law isn’t even overweight, not much He can do. He cut out carbs and still has it. My daughter has type 1 , there’s no cure for it yet. She needs to take insulin to survive. I’ve grown to hate diabetes with a passion. Best Luck to you. Maybe try another Dr. as each has their own level of risk liability, they worry about.
