As for hiring, You have to decide if it's good or bad. The last 6 weeks they have had 50+ in each orientation class. I would venture to say that 80 precent of those complete their 4 to 6 weeks OTR training and get their own truck.

Truck? Out of my class I ended up with a 2006 9600i, no inverter, no APU but it only had 206,800 miles on it. So far it seems to run pretty good. Just got spoiled in the new Prostar the trainer had.

Three others that were in the same class as me, 2 got older Prostars and 1 got a rather new one. It appears that your Fleet Manager hands out trucks from what he has available in his fleet. Flip a coin I guess.

Miles? Who knows. This is my second week going solo. My first week I ended up with the following:
539 loaded 2 empty
581 loaded 18 empty
750 loaded 39 empty
817 loaded 91 empty

Total
2687 loaded 150 empty

Started this week with

1107 loaded 130 empty delivers tomorrow morning

Granted this is all new to me but as of yet I can't really complain.

Well, congrats on the loads. I have to say this is the first post I read that wasn't complaining about not having loads. Guess it keeps you busy. Good luck in the near future with continuing to have miles.
