Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I have been doing a lot of homework, but as someone else had mentioned it depends on your state. Here in GA, they said they would like you to have it prior to issuance with the military skills waiver. ( or at least that is what they told me at the local DMV)

Hey All -
I am fairly new to this site and am finding it to be immensely informative ... Have been reading some threads by new drivers about their day to day trials and adventures and I was wondering if there are any such threads by drivers with families that might give some insight into the unique experiences of new (or experienced) drivers struggling with being away from home. I am 47, married, with kids, and would really like to become a driver but not sure how it would work out with having a family.
I tried using the search tool, but didn't find anything that way... Will greatly appreciate any help. -
@indianabuck, I would look into roehl transport, they are big family oriented company they do a home time fleet sounds like it may meet your needs. But you'll make less

I do pretty well getting to my family with Schneider as well. Depending on where you live, they probably will have an account that can get you home weekly or more. If you haven't already, I'd definitely check it out.
Indianabuck Thanks this. -

Thanks for your response... About how many nights a week do you average at home? I live within 50 miles of Indy ... What do you think a new driver might be able to get ... best case?
